Quote of the Day 1, 2/15/07:
“The greatest happiness is to vanquish your enemies, to chase them before you, to rob them of your wealth, to see those dear to them bathed in tears, to clasp to your bosom their wives and daughters.”
-Ghenghis Khan, 1162-1227
If there’s one guy in history you don’t wanna mess with, its probably Ghenghis Khan. I mean, the above quote is one of the scariest quotes you’ll ever see anywhere. He conquered almost an entire continent, and he killed alot of people on the way. Supposedly, he used to torture people by having them eat themselves to death. Again, I’ll repeat; not a guy you wanted to mess with back in the day.
And since I didn’t post a quote on last night’s blog (sorry if I sounded a little down), here’s a second, totally different quote:
Quote of the Day 2, 2/15/07:
“I want my Governor to be a Jewish Cowboy.”
-Kinky Freidman bumper stickers in Texas, where Kinky Freidman, a former country singer who happens to be Jewish, unsuccessfully ran for Governor recently.
I learned about Kinky from one of my co-workers, who’s from San Antonio; Kinky put up really entertaining videos about his campaign online. I highly recommend Googling his name; I think his videos are still posted. The guy was definitely a little kooky: his main focus was integrating Bio-Diesel into buses and trucks across the state (not a bad idea at all, but for a main focus, I’m not so sure). Another main focus: saving the cowboy in Texas, which he called an “endangered species.” (No, seriously.) His slogan for Governor is probably the best I’ve ever heard: “Why the Hell not?” (Seriously). The old Kinkster lost on the independent ticket pretty badly, but in the process, he gave us hope for crazy politicians in the future.
Anyway, I’ve gotta run. Like I said, this one’s a quickie.
Until Next Time,
